Balkan adventure on your own bike

What with the launch of the latest Adventure Country Tracks video through Montenegro (CLICK HERE), the Balkans area is really hotting up for adventure bike riders.

With that in mind I've put something different together for 2025, making the decision to land freight bikes down and back to Slovenia, allowing us to enjoy 12 great days of back road riding, perfectly suited to the smaller adventure bikes. There's a few nuts and bolts to screw into place for this one, but the main gist is this:

 

• Bikes freighted down in a transporter from the UK, fully insured and with all documentation included. Land logistics would be provided by Shippio. Bikes would need to be dropped off approximately one week prior to our arrival on Sunday 12th. Drop off location is Gloucester. There might be an additional collection point in Devon. You can also arrange to have your bike collected and delivered to home for additional cost. Bikes can travel loaded up with a kit bag on the seat, allowing you to travel light to Slovenia.

• You will fly in and out of Ljubljana, Slovenia (flights not included), to arrive by the 12th October, with collection of the bikes from storage on the 13th. We'll then have 12 days of riding, with drop off of the bikes back in Ljubljana on Friday 24th.

• The reason for freighting is to allow us maximum time to explore Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and into Albania without any big daily distances. To ride there and back and enjoy the Balkans would take 3 weeks or some very long motorway days. Here we will do manageable days and have time to explore.

• You do have the option of riding back from Slovenia (at your own cost) but the price will remain the same for the tour as the cost of the vehicle freighting is fixed.

• It will be suitable for all bikes but particularly smaller adventure bikes in the sub 650cc class. There will be option to ride parts of the ACT through Croatia and Montenegro. You can also stay on the road if you wish.

• Accommodation will be hotels, with a villa down in Montenegro where we'll spend a few nights enjoying the scenery and the city of Kotor, which is spectacular.

• Highlights will include Lake Bled in Slovenia, Vrsic Pass in Slovenia, Croatian coast including Split and Durbrovnik, Mostar in Bosnia where the iconic bridge over the Neretva River is located, Durmitor National Park in Montenegro and the epic Lovćen National Park, overlooking the incredible bay in Kotor.

• Pillions are welcome for an additional £650 charge, although that will limit your option to ride trails

• The trail element won't be technical. It'll be easy/moderate, suitable for most abilities and most machines.

•  The price of £2295 includes freighting both ways, hotel accommodation on a twin share basis with option for single supplement.

• This will be a guided ride but there will be route details provided and riders will be encouraged to self navigate where confident.
