WELCOME TO PORTUGAL; THE DUAL

This trip is currently under construction. It follows on from the success of the Spanish tour of 2024, this time venturing further west into Portugal, with two options available.

OPTION ONE: The road beckons

A posh, road ride, with hotels and swimming pools. Great riding in the mountains. Some days in the same spot to allow for a more relaxed pace. To unwind. To enjoy the place. The route is based on that offered by Steve Nash, a long time friend of Dorothy who is a seasoned European traveller and often travels with his wife Tracey on the back. So this route is very much pillion friendly. Manageable days, relaxed hotels, good food. A perfect antidote to the hustle of daily life. This will be operated in typical road trip style, with riders encouraged to self navigate in order to make their own safe pace and to enjoy the roads in the style that they wish to travel. ​

OPTION TWO: Dirt Devils.

This is for those who like to get hot and sweaty on the trails. It comes off the back of a Facebook conversation with a resident of Portugal, two in fact, who know the trails intimately, and are aware of the types of trails suitable to the types of riders typical to the tours I run. Nothing too technical, nothing to break man or machine, just open vistas, wider tracks; a sense of adventure through the wilderness as we down towards the Algarve at the bottom. Riders will need some trail experience and will need to show some evidence of that. It could be some training, some assessment, with the route perfectly suited to the type of small capacity adventure bike I run on the A2 test days; CRF, Voge, Himalayan, CF Moto etc. There will be a real sense of adventure about this one and riders need to be prepared for that. 

​Price: £1795. Accommodation will be more basic hotel.​

More information shall follow on both. But dates are set; sailing Plymouth - Santander on the afternoon of Sunday 14th and returning back to Plymouth on Friday 26th September into Plymouth.

 

Price will include return ferry including cabin, all route mapping and guiding where required, and accommodation throughout. Riders on the Road tour will be encouraged to self navigate as it makes for a more relaxed, enjoyable ride for all.
